the latest dell i work with in my office baffles me; its Dell Optiplex GX400, with 4 ram slots, 2 of the same kind and the other of the same kind equally......................i think i need an explanation on that...............if you guys have got any..............................thanks

Your Dell uses RDRAM PC 600 or PC 800 and must be replaced in pairs or sets. Rambus is very expensive and somewhat hard to find without getting ripped off.

This type of Ram is superior to it's successors IMHO and I have done things on my PC that one running the same amount of Ram could not handle.

My Dell is the 8100 series and can take up to 2GB of Ram and other than replacing the CPU fan it has never failed me and runs like a top

If you are not into modding, then i guess you could just buy a new case. Like everyone else said though, if you start buying a new motherboard, you're going to relize how crappy your pc is and you're going to want to upgrade everything. xD

I think that you should be fine with most cases. I have changed the case on my dell inspiron.

Dell laptop's are clumsy, inefficient, lousy, hot like the sun and more. Asus are ice cool, much better, much sexier. Now you know your choice, really.
