Hi Guys.
I was just going to make this to ask if anyone else has had this problem.
Well my Gma's PC was screwed up back in November ( When I joined SF ) and a guy came and looked at it several times, replacing ALL internal hardware each time.
Every time something was screwed up.
Well this last time ( a few months back ) he came and did another swap out of all the refurb equipment.
Well everything was fixed EXCEPT the desktop folder.
Now every time you turn it on it goes to the BIOS boot screen and then boots into Windows 7 Home Premium.
After you login it pops up about 5,000 messages ( EXAGERATION ) saying that the C:/Desktop folder is unreadable.
Then you click all of them out and it pops up another error saying the same thing.
You click it out and try to run any program like Google Chrome, FireFox, etc... and it say that C:/desktop/chrome.exe is corrupt and you have to run Chkdsk utility to fix it.
Well you go and search it and then run it and it pops up the CMD for a second and then closes and nothing happens.
Well they sent her a new laptop ( FINALLY ) after about 3 months and this new one is a Dell XPS 15.6"
A little better specs, (Graphics, Sound, HDD Size, etc..) and it runs for about $1,049 USD on Dell.com .
I am wanting to keep this old Studio XPS and try to swap out HDD's and maybe install Linux or something like Ubuntu.
So there is my story.
Have any of you ever had this problem before?
