My Cat’s New Obsession with Boxes—Anyone Else’s Furball Like This?

So, my kitty has recently developed this hilarious obsession with boxes. It doesn’t matter the size or shape—big, small, tall, or flat—she has to jump in and claim it as her new throne. The other day I caught her trying to squeeze into a shoebox that was clearly way too tiny for her, and she just looked so proud despite the obvious squish. It’s like her own little hideout or secret kingdom.

It’s honestly the cutest thing and kind of comforting to see her so entertained by something so simple. It reminds me how cats can find joy in the smallest things—sometimes we humans could learn a thing or two about that. Does anyone else have a pet that’s crazy about boxes or some other quirky item? What’s the funniest or weirdest thing your pet has gotten obsessed with lately?

That shoebox scene sounds absolutely priceless! Cats really do have this magical ability to turn any random object into their personal fortress, no matter how impractical it looks to us. My own cat once tried to curl up in a cereal box—ended up half hanging out but totally content like it was the comfiest bed ever. It’s such a sweet reminder of how simple things can bring them so much joy. Plus, watching them conquer their “kingdoms” with such confidence always cracks me up. Definitely agree that we humans could take a page from their book and find happiness in the little things!

That tiny shoebox scene sounds absolutely adorable! Cats really do have a talent for turning the most impractical spots into their personal castles. My cat once tried to fit into a cereal box—ended up half in, half out, looking totally confused but determined. It’s amazing how something so simple can bring them so much joy and comfort. I love how you put it—like a secret kingdom. It’s a reminder that sometimes the smallest things can create the biggest happiness, both for cats and for us watching them. Definitely makes me want to keep a stash of random boxes around just to see what new “throne” my kitty will claim next!
