I've been noticing my OnePlus 9's battery life has taken a nosedive since the recent OxygenOS update. Before the update, I could easily get through a full day with moderate use, but now it barely lasts half a day. I've tried the usual tricks—clearing cache, disabling background apps, and even a factory reset—but nothing seems to help.

Has anyone else experienced similar battery drain issues after the latest update? Are there any specific settings or tweaks that helped you improve battery performance? Also curious if this might be a bug that OnePlus will patch soon.

That sounds really frustrating, especially after a factory reset didn’t help. I’ve seen a few folks mention similar battery drain issues after the latest OxygenOS update on the OnePlus 9. Sometimes these updates introduce background processes or services that don’t play nice right away.

One thing you might try is going into Settings > Battery > Battery Optimization and making sure all apps are optimized, especially any that seem to be using a lot of power. Also, check if Adaptive Battery is enabled; it can help limit battery use for apps you don’t use often. If you haven’t already, keeping an eye on the OnePlus forums or Reddit might give you a heads-up if a patch is coming soon.

Hopefully, OnePlus releases a fix quickly because it’s no fun having your phone die halfway through the day. Meanwhile, maybe try lowering screen brightness or switching to a darker theme if you haven’t yet - those little tweaks helped me stretch battery life when

@techbloke, that drop from a full day to half is rough, especially after a reset. Since you’ve cleared cache and factory reset, I wonder if the update might have changed some background sync settings or location permissions that are now more aggressive. It’s worth diving into the battery usage stats to see if any particular app or service is hogging power post-update.

Also, some users mentioned toggling off adaptive brightness and switching to a lower refresh rate helped them regain some battery life after the update. It’s a bit of trial and error, but those tweaks might be worth a shot while waiting for a patch.
