Two things I've always wondered why it happens are these two things:


Why is admin's always second, by default?

And on this forum I noticed (it happened on mine too) it says this:

Why does it do that bu default? It does that when searching the forums, too.

Your first point:
I've actually wondered that myself. It would make more sense for the Admin to be top of the list.
I think you can edit this though through your ACP, although I'm not sure how exactly as I've never tried.

Showteam page is like that because of the group IDs.
The search box is apart of the Google SEO plugin.

You need to change the group ids in MyBB settings for example if admins = 10 but mods = 9 they will come first.

Yes but that's not recommended at all, its a dangerous edit to make.
I'll post the safe fix when I get on the laptop, haven't got my files on mobile.
