The only advantage a laptop has over a desktop is mobility.
Desktops beat laptops in everything else. EVERYTHING. Went to the store once and saw a.. desktop that cost 500$: 8G RAM, 1T HDD, Quad-core, all this extra software Laptop that cost 600$: 4G RAM, 750 HDD, Duel-Core, Not as much software

I prefer laptops, simply because I can take it around the house with me, and I can take it on trips, which is very useful for me because I do Online High School, so I can do school from anywhere that has a WiFi connection.

I use both. My computer for video editing, capturing, photoshop, web coding, web design and all that stuff, while I use my laptop for the internet and things.

Really depends on what you're gonna do. For example, i have (had) a Macbook for school and like surfing and crap, and then i have my desktop PC that i use for gaming. I'd pick my Macbook over my desktop PC any day
