It is not the best for everything. But it is very useful for coding. I use it for my web dev projects.

I've recently started to use it. Very simple and straight forward.
None of its features are hidden away stupidly.

I use it along with "programmers notepad"

This is because programmers notepad aut fills in tags for you.
e.g. if you type <html>
it will automaticly type </html>

This feature can save a lot of time.

Notepadd++ has the same feature, you can enable it under TextFX -> TextFX Settings

I love that feature as-well. In Aptana, it auto closes almost anything. Saves lots of time.

I haven't found an IDE that really 'stands out' from the others yet, but yeah...an IDE is useful.

I use Twilight. I always bold the font in the settings but it never saves when I open it again.

I replaced the default notepad with windows to notepad++...that should sum up my answer. =)
