For a child of that age, I would say Wii or a DS. Simply because there are more child related games / more games rated everyone than the other consoles and it's a bit more family safe.

I would suggest the wii it has alot of games for younger kids and is more family centered. Also it plays game cube games which is cool.

Xbox + Kinect ,, The boy can play cod on it and your girl '' can play kinect ..
I dont have a Xbox but if you want a good console for the boy buy then a PS3 (L)

I would have to go with xbox. I have had several systems but i always find myself playing the xbox. Best in my opinion and i knwo alot of other people would agree as well.

My son (10 years old) uses PSP for about 3 years and plays more of cricket and soccer in psp. I wanted to get my daughter (6 years old) a gaming console. Can anyone suggest me which is best (Xbox, PS3 or Nintendo Wii) for kids aged 6 to 10 years? Of course everone else will also play

A Wii, it was my console when I was younger and you just can beat it at that age, I don't think they are ready for Call Of Duty yet.

I would prefer Xbox 360 more than any others. Xbox is really good, And has great online Multiplayer games, And also really good games with a story line

Though I was inclined to go for Xbox but I fear nasty comments that it might get online few of you have mentioned. Moreover, Wii2 is also expected to be launched in 2012 (a bit far). But seeing the poll majority have told for Wii. PS3 has few takers. So final round is between Wii or Xbox for kids aged 6 and 10?
