Tears fall down my face,
As I think of you tonight.
I don't want to be this way,
But its the only thought I have.
Sometimes I feel the pain,
Again and again as I fall apart.
Nothing could ever feel this way,
Its like you're piercing my young and foolish heart.
If I could turn my back to you,
I would but it would just tear me up inside.
Winter and Spring go side by side,
Like my love and pain.
I don't wanna live that life again,
I want freedom from hurt and spite.
I want to walk on God's terrain,
With a soul, unburdened, carefree and light.
If what it takes to break this curse,
Is to set me ablaze on my shattered glass,
Trust me, I've been through worse.
Just hand me a pen, plated with brass,
And watch as I return to my world,
Paint a masterpiece upon this canvas,
For Winter and Spring go side by side,
Like my love and pain.
