It would help to know what you did but I understand you want to keep that private. You're probably just paranoid and nothing will come of it, but if you are really worrying and you want to do what you can incase they do come knocking, you should get rid of your computer ( = All evidence gone). Doesn't matter how much they think you did it, if they have no evidence and you tell them absolutely nothing, you will be released without charge.
The first sentence I find is false, you should always surrender if it's something bad you've done. If he has done something illegal and he is worried about it, he should just come clean and he will get a lighter sentence.
