If you're wanting Photoshop, get Gimp. Gimp is a great alternative to Photoshop and has all the available features. Personally, I use Gimp, and love the program.
However, with Microsoft Visual Basic, I'd advise that you get a Virtualbox. If you need help, I'm always on my MSN: Buffer_Overflow@live.com

As someone suggested before, MonoDevelop is good.

uBuntu doesn't support these windows programs, try using wine, a program that runs windows programs through Linux, if you still need help please post here.

You cannot get Photoshop to run under Linux, not even under wine. The only option is to run it in a VM - such as vmware player or virtual box.

If you search it, there are plenty of Virtualbox tutorials, but you really dont need one. Just get an ISO, make a virtual hard drive, and voila!
