You can use static IP addresses for certain programs such as p2p or torrents.
I also use a static IP on my WHS for remote access.
And I use static IP addresses on my network and turn off all other unused addresses so noone I don't know can attempt to connect.

You can use it for other reasons too but that is on a different forum. I can't mention the name though cause we aren't allowed to talk about it on here.

Oh ok. I will definetly use this tutorial if If I ever need a static IP.
