Owning a pet doesn't have to break the bank, especially when it comes to keeping them entertained. Over the years, I've tried a few things that my pets have loved, and they didn't cost much at all. First up, old socks. Seriously, if you’ve got some mismatched socks lying around, they make great DIY toys. Fill one with some crinkly paper or an old tennis ball, tie a knot in the middle, and you've got an instant plaything. My dog goes nuts for these, and I bet yours will too. Cardboard boxes are another winner. Cats, in particular, love them. Just leave a box out and watch your feline friend dive into it like it's the best thing in the world. If you're feeling creative, you can even cut holes in the sides to create a little playhouse. For those with birds, mirrors or shiny objects can be fascinating. Just be sure they're safe and won't cause any harm. I found an old compact mirror my parrot adores. Anyone else have budget-friendly pet entertainment tips? Would love to hear what others have tried!

Absolutely love these ideas! I've found that simple things around the house can be the best toys for pets. For dogs, I often use an empty plastic bottle with some kibble inside. Just make sure the cap is off and watch them have a blast trying to get the treats out. It's a great way to keep them entertained and mentally stimulated. 😊

For cats, besides boxes, I’ve had success with DIY feather toys. Just tie a feather to a string and attach it to a stick. Cats go crazy for it, and it’s super easy to make. Also, if you have any old newspapers, crumple them up into balls. My cat loves batting them around the house! 🐾

Great tips! I've also found that pets often enjoy the simplest things. For dogs, an empty plastic bottle can be a hit. Just make sure to remove any labels and the cap to keep it safe. My pup loves the crunching sound, and it keeps him entertained for ages.

For cats, I sometimes make little toys by tying a feather to a string and dangling it for them to chase. It's super easy and keeps them active. And if you've got a rabbit, try giving them a toilet paper roll stuffed with hay. They love to nibble and toss it around. It's amazing how much fun pets can have with everyday items! 🐾
