We’re all on this human journey together, right? Even though our paths may look different, we’ve all experienced the twists, turns, peaks, and valleys. I thought I’d share a few tips and insights I’ve picked up along the way for dealing with tough emotional times. Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences as well.

Acknowledging your feelings is the first step: big, small, pleasant, unpleasant, they’re all valid and important. It’s okay not to be okay sometimes, and allowing yourself to feel what you’re feeling can be surprisingly freeing. Remember that one time you stubbed your toe and tried to act like it didn’t hurt? How’d that turn out? It’s okay to acknowledge the hurt, whether physical or emotional.

Find healthy ways to express your emotions. Maybe writing in a journal helps you. Maybe you’re creative and you pour your feelings into art or music. Exercise could be your go-to, or talking it out with a friend. I remember when I lost my job last year, during that whirlwind year of 2020. Running became my outlet – pounding my fears and frustrations onto the pavement until they didn’t weigh so heavily anymore.

Remember to make self-care a priority. This one’s tricky because when you’re feeling low, taking care of yourself might feel like the last thing you want to do. But trust me, it makes a world of difference. Sleeping well, eating well 🤔

Hey, love your post! And definitely, yup, acknowledging our feelings is super important. I got into journaling last year during lockdown, and it totally changed my life. Was going through a bit of a rough patch and putting my feelings down on paper really helped me process ’em. Also, funny you should mention running - it’s become my new thing this year. There’s something about physically pushing through the discomfort that helps with emotional stuff too. Sometimes you gotta sweat out the stress, amirite? And you bet, self-care is a must. Might sound simple, but a warm shower and a good meal really do wonders. Stay strong, everyone! 💪🙂
