Over the last few weeks, I’ve been feeling this intense wave of emotions. I’m not sure if it’s because of the ongoing pandemic, the daily news headlines, or just the sheer stress of trying to stay afloat during these uncertain times.

Some days, I can hardly get out of bed. My energy levels are way down while my anxiety seems to be constantly peaking. You know that sinking feeling in your stomach, like you’ve gone down a really steep rollercoaster, that’s how I feel most of the time. It’s like I’m on a never-ending emotional rollercoaster, and it’s starting to become exhausting.

I’ve spoken to a few close friends about it, but I don’t want to bare everything and add to their problems, y’know? In the grand scheme of things, my issues seem rather trivial. So here I am, typing away in this forum, hoping to get some insight, advice, or just plain empathy from strangers who might have experienced or are experiencing the same thing.

Is it normal to feel this drained, this overwhelmed? Has anyone else felt this way? If so, how did you handle it? I’d definitely appreciate any tips or advice on staying emotionally balanced during times like these. Thanks in advance!

Hey, your feelings are totally valid, alright? This pandemic’s got us all feeling some type of way. I’ve been there, and honestly, still dealing with it too. It’s okay to feel drained and overwhelmed, you’re not alone in this. Something that’s worked for me is to take things one day at a time, and remember it’s okay to have bad days. And about sharing, it doesn’t have to be all or nothing, y’know? Maybe just share a bit of what you’re feeling, chances are your friends are probably feeling the same way. Sometimes it helps to shut off the news and socials for a little while and just breathe. Looking after your mental health is just as important as physical health, so maybe consider talking to a professional about this, they might be able to give some good strategies to handle this heavy feeling. Take care of yourself, okay? We’ll get through this.

Yeah, feeling overwhelmed is kinda the 2021 vibe, huh? Everything’s up in the air and no one truly knows when it’s gonna settle. One small trick I’ve picked up lately is to focus on little victories. Made it through another zoom meeting without wanting to throw the laptop away? That’s a win. Remembered to drink water today? Win. The world’s all wild right now but so long as we keep our own corner a bit tidy, it feels a small bit better. Oh and your suggestion about limiting doomscrolling is gold! Gave it a go and my mind feels lot less cluttered. As for professional help, that’s the smartest move one could make. They’ve got the tools and the expertise to guide us through the mess. Stay strong, buddy!

Absolutely spot on with the little victories trick! It’s the little things that keep us going some days, right? I’ve been there, done that with the whole wanting to chuck the laptop nonsense. Those Zoom meetings can be a pain, can’t they?

I’m a big fan of that doomscrolling suggestion as well, what a game changer. It’s like taking a breath of fresh air after being under water too long. But yeah, seeking professional help, never a bad move. It’s kind of like trying to navigate a maze blindfolded versus having someone guide us through it. Props to you for recognizing that and sharing the wisdom.

Hang in there mate, we’re all in this together! 💪🏽

I’m with ya on the Zoom fatigue mate, been there too many times. And those little victories? 100%. Turns a worse day into just a bad one and that’s definitely progress in my book.

Funny you mentioned the doomscrolling bit - burst out laughing when I saw that term the first time. Such a clever way to sum up my usual 3am Reddit rabbit hole session.

And hey, absolutely no shame in seeking professional help! Sometimes you just gotta accept that you’re lost in the maze and need a bit of help finding your way out. Happy you’re open about it, helps to normalize that conversation for so many people.

Just remember, it’s okay to have bad days. And on those days, remember this conversation and know we’re cheering for ya. Keep going mate, you’ve got this! 💪🏽

You’re right on the money there mate. Especially with the Zoom fatigue, I can’t count the number of times I wanted to throw my laptop out the window during a meeting. And “doomscrolling”, what a term, eh? Sums it up perfectly!

Looking for professional help is not anything to be ashamed of. We all get lost sometimes and need a helping hand, that’s just life. Plus, the more we talk about it, the less stigmatized it gets, you know?

And yup, those little victories do matter! On bad days, they’re like the light at the end of the tunnel. Bad days are a part of life but they pass, they always do. Just hang in there buddy, and remember we’re all with you, cheering you on! 💪🏽

Totally get you, Zoom fatigue is an actual thing! Throwing the laptop out the window might not be the best idea though, haha. Definitely, seeking help is not a sign of weakness. And yeah, talking about it does help in reducing the stigma. Got to celebrate those small victories, keeps us going during those rough patches. Keep hanging in there mate, we’ve got your back. And remember, it’s okay to switch off and step away when it gets too much. Take a walk, listen to some good music, whatever helps you relax. You’ve got this! 💪🏽💪🏽

Mate, you’ve nailed it, small victories all the way. Zoom meetings can get so monotonous, it’s like Groundhog Day, eh? Keep taking those deep breaths, remember you’re not alone in this. Those moments when it gets too much, remember to take a break. My go-to stress buster? Dancing like nobody’s watching, haha. And don’t forget, there’s a whole forum here for you. Keep hanging on, you’re stronger than you think!💪🏽💪🏽

Totally get what you mean about those zoom meetings, feels like a recurring nightmare, huh? And yep, small wins do add up. They’re like the little pieces of a huge puzzle. When it gets tough, I find it so helpful to just step away for a moment. My secret sauce? A quick walk around the block, works like a charm. With each step I feel a bit more stress leaving my body. Give it a try and see how it works for you. And remember, no matter how tough it gets, there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel. We’re all in this together! 💪🏼💪🏼

Zoom meetings, amirite? Feels like I live in them these days. But yeah, your approach of taking a walk around the block hits home. Fresh air and movement works wonders. I’ve also found that spending a couple minutes just doing deep breathing exercises does the job when stepping out isn’t an option. Kinda makes you do a mental reset, y’know? And yeah, we gotta hold on to the fact that it gets better. Hang in there, we’ve got each other’s backs in this mad, mad Zoom-world! 💪🏼💪🏼

Absolutely feel you on the Zoom fatigue! Right? And taking a walk really does soothe the nerves. When I can’t step outside, I’ve found stretching or even just getting a change of scenery within the house helps - like taking the meeting from the kitchen or balcony instead of my usual desk setup. And totally agree on the deep breathing, it’s so basic yet so effective! Here’s hoping for the day we look back on these crazy times and laugh about our Zoom woes! 💪🏼💪🏼 Stay strong, bud. We’re all in this together.

Feeling the Zoom fatigue too, mate! It’s been a wild ride working from home. I also switch up my work stations now and then. Keeps things a bit fresher. Plus, there’s nothing quite like the simple comfort of a good stretch, eh? Totally on board with your deep breathing shout out. Underestimated but a lifesaver! As you said, hoping one day this will all just be a story to tell. And hey, remember no one’s alone in this wrestle match with Zoom. Keep going, pal! 💪🏼
