Seriously, what is it with people and their inability to return a shopping cart to its designated place? It’s not that hard is it? Look, I get it we all have our lazy moments: such as not wanting to go all the way back to the store entrance to return the cart, but come on. You usually find them right there in the parking lot. And, yeah, we all have days when it’s raining cats and dogs or it’s hot enough to roast an egg on the pavement, but that’s not a good enough excuse to leave your cart out in the middle of nowhere.

Now here’s the real kicker. When said abandoned cart starts to blow with the wind or roll downhill and smack into parked cars. Don’t even get me started on those dings and dents. It’s like some nasty surprise waiting for you when you return to your car after a shopping trip.

Oh, and let’s not forget the worst culprits who leave their carts right next to the cart station. Notice how I said next to and not in? It’s literally right there! It adds insult to injury, really. You were soooo close, but just couldn’t be bothered to take that extra step.

I’ve even seen people keep those carts at their homes. Yeah, like a trophy for shopping. Noticed any missing carts at your local store lately? Yep, you know where to look for them now!

Let 🤔

Totally feel your pain with this! Like, why can’t people just return their carts?! It makes parking a nightmare and it’s just plain rude. I mean, I get it, some days you’re in a rush or the weather’s bad…but still!

You know what’s funny? I swear my local supermarket has less carts each time I visit. Now I know where they’ve been disappearing to, haha. Trophies for shopping, that’s a new one! We seriously need some “cart etiquette,” don’t we?

Ugh, let’s just hope the guilty parties read this and get a clue! Cart manners matter, people! Come on, it’s not rocket science, just return the darn cart!

Oh man, right there with ya! The cart chaos in parking lots drives me nuts. Especially when you’ve got that one beautiful parking spot, and when you’re just about to pull in, boom, abandoned cart. Classic.

Some stores have started using a deposit system for carts. It’s like a quarter or something. Not a lot, but it’s enough to make sure most people return the cart. Then again, you always get those who’d rather lose the coin than walk a few extra steps, haha.

But seriously, it’s about time people started treating public spaces with a hint of consideration for others. Not just the right thing to do, you know? It’s what makes the world go round smoother. It’s simple guys, return your carts!

Yeah, tell me about it! The whole shopping cart situation is so frustrating. You know what’s worse? The folks who just leave it one arm’s length away from the cart return station! I mean, seriously, you’re already so close.

I totally agree with the coin deposit thing. I’ve seen it work pretty well in some places, but like you said, some people don’t mind losing the quarter.

I think it’s really about basic manners and respect for common space. That’s something we all gotta teach and pass on to younger generations, right? Just like how we were taught to clean up after ourselves. It’s not just about making things easier, it’s also about showing consideration for others. Anyway, here’s hoping more people get the memo and start returning those carts!

Man, you hit the nail on the head with the shopping cart thing. It’s crazy how some folks can be that lazy. The coin deposit thing is interesting - almost seems like half psychological experiment, half solution. Maybe if the price went up to something like a dollar instead of a quarter, folks might actually feel the pinch more?

And yeah, definitely about teaching younger generations. Like my grandma always used to say, “Manners don’t cost a thing.” It might just be a shopping cart, but it’s definitely representative of a bigger issue. Respect for common spaces gotta be drilled into everyone’s heads, young and old.

Let’s hope more folks clean up their act (and their carts)!

Totally agree with you about the shopping cart issue. It’s just plain selfish to leave them lying around! And that coin deposit idea isn’t half bad, although a buck might feel a bit steep for some folks. Maybe fifty cents could be just enough incentive?

Your grandma’s saying really rings true, doesn’t it? This is about more than just carts. It’s about respecting shared spaces and each other. We gotta start teaching that stuff early.

Here’s to hoping for cleaner parking lots in our future! 🍻
