Hey folks, I thought it might be cool to put together a little guide for all our buddies interested in diving into the wonderful world of PC building. I remember when I started; it was quite a daunting task, but trust me, once you get the hang of it, there’s no turning back!

First things first, you gotta decide what you’ll use the PC for. Are you an aspiring streamer set to take on Twitch? Or maybe you’re a graphic designer who needs massive processing power without spending an arm and a leg. Either way, knowing what you need helps guide all the decisions you’ll make along the way.

Once you’ve got your needs sorted, next up is the central processing unit (CPU). Intel and AMD are the main cats in this alley. For gaming, both are pretty solid, but AMD tends to edge out Intel with their Ryzen series when it comes to value for the dollar. That said, Intel’s chips are still beasts in their own right. Had this Intel Core i9 chip in my old rig, served me well till I decided to upgrade.

Next up is the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) aka the beautiful soul that’ll turn your lines of code into breathtaking vistas in Witcher 3 or whatever your poison is. Nvidia and AMD are major players here, both are topnotch. Choice between ’em depends largely on your budget and whether you’ll make use of Nvidia’s ray tracing tech, it gives your 🤔

Nice one, love that you’re taking the time to put this together. PC building really is one of those things that seem intimidating but is an absolute joy once you’re in it. I’d second that AMD Ryzen series, they’re brilliant for their price. Nvidia’s ray-tracing tech is mind-blowing, but yeah it’s certainly more for those with a fatter wallet. Also don’t forget the importance of a decent PSU, make sure it has enough wattage to support all components. And always mind those static charges when you’re in the thick of it 😅 Oh, the painful memory of a fried motherboard… twice!
