Have you guys ever noticed how our pets make everything better? It’s been a hectic year, to say the least. With everything that’s going on in the world at the minute, there’s something special about coming home and being greeted by little tails swishing back and forth in pure excitement.

I’ve got two dogs myself, a labradoodle called Bella and a pug named Rocky, and they’re the best therapy I swear. After a long days work, seeing them bolting towards me ready for cuddles just instantly lifts my spirits.

The unconditional love pets give us, it’s unmatched. Sometimes I wonder if we even deserve them. I recently read this book called The Travelling Cat Chronicles and it narrated the story from the perspective of the pet. Got me all in tears in all honesty. Makes you see things from totally different angle, doesn’t it?

I was thinking the other day of what life would be like without them and I simply couldn’t imagine it. They’ve become such a significant part of my everyday routine now, it’s like they’re family. I mean, they ARE family. I even celebrate their birthdays, giving them a special treat or a new toy. Anyone else guilty of doing this or is it just me?

Also, what’s the funniest thing your pet’s ever done? Rocky decided he wanted to taste mud the other day and I found him rolling in the garden, 🤔

Totally on the same page! My cat, Tuna, has been an absolute lifesaver throughout the last year. With all the hours spent at home, she’s been there every step of the way. That purring sound she makes when she’s contented – bliss. And the way she rolls over to have her belly rubbed, so cute!

Unconditional love is right. Speaking of birthdays, I just got her a new scratching post, a bit early perhaps, but who cares? She was over the moon. Chasing her tail around it was hilarious. 😂 And that book you mentioned, I might just have to look it up. Sounds like a real tear-jerker though, don’t know if I’m ready for that yet!

Oh, and as for funny pet moments, there was this one time Tuna tried to jump on the kitchen counter, miscalculated (as cats rarely do) and toppled a bowl of popcorn. You should have seen the madness that ensued. She was chasing after those popcorn kernels all around the house like a lunatic, and the look on her face – pure amazement! 🤣

Oh wow, that visual of Tuna chasing popcorn kernels around the house had me in stitches. 😂 Cats can be such goofballs sometimes. But hey, at least it’s never a dull day with them around, right? Also, that book sounds interesting, kinda love those tear-jerkers - they hit different. If you do end up reading it, let us know how it goes. Try not to spoil it though. 😉 Curious to know if Tuna has claimed the new scratching post as her kingdom yet, mine took WEEKS to warm up to. Is she still doing her happy tail-chasing dance around it? Quick tip that might help, try rubbing some catnip on it, if you haven’t already. It’s like magic. 💫

Oh man, the image of Tuna chasing popcorn made my day too. Cats, right? They’re such characters! 🐱 And yeah, tear-jerkers definitely hit different. I recently read one that left me sobbing, but in a good way. Let us know your thoughts if you get around to reading it. No spoilers, promise! lol.

And the scratching post dilemma! It feels like a victory, right? When they finally decide it’s not an alien invader but their personal plaything. Mine took a month! I found that sprinkling a bit of catnip did the trick. Also tried leaving some of their favourite toys around it. Worked like a charm!

Does Tuna do that funny butt-wiggle before the tail-chasing dance? That’s my absolute fave! 🍿😂

Ha, sounds like Tuna’s giving you a real laugh! It’s crazy how much entertainment our pets provide. I’ve got two of my own - Marmalade and Rocket. Marmalade, the old lady, just naps all day. But Rocket’s a ball of energy, absolutely loves a laser pointer chase.

On the book, I’m super curious now. If it’s making people sob and still recommending it, must be a good one! I’ll put it on my list and will definitely share my thoughts.

Can’t give any better advice on scratching posts than that. Catnip and toys are a magic combo! Once they conquer that fear and start using it regularly - it’s pure bliss! Protects your furniture too.

And oh my gosh, the butt wiggle! Rocket does that all the time before he pounces. Pure comedy gold. Makes my day every time! 😹🍿

Absolutely relate to everything you've said! Pets really do have a magical way of making everything better, don’t they? I’ve got a cat named Whiskers, and she’s my little shadow. No matter how stressful things get, her purring and the way she curls up next to me just melts away the day’s worries. 🐾

And you're definitely not alone in celebrating pet birthdays! I always make sure Whiskers gets a special treat and maybe a new toy. It’s those little moments that make life so much richer. The unconditional love they give is truly a gift. I haven’t read "The Travelling Cat Chronicles" yet, but it sounds like a must-read. Thanks for the recommendation!

Absolutely, pets have this magical way of making everything better, don't they? It's like they just know when we need a little extra love. Bella and Rocky sound like wonderful companions, and celebrating their birthdays sounds like a fantastic tradition! 🎉 My cat, Whiskers, gets a special treat on his birthday too, so you're definitely not alone in that. It's amazing how they become such an integral part of our lives and routines.

That book you mentioned, The Travelling Cat Chronicles, sounds intriguing. Stories from a pet's perspective can be so heartwarming and eye-opening. It's a reminder of the deep bond we share with them. Keep cherishing those moments with Bella and Rocky; they truly are family. 🐾
