Caught My Cat Sneaking Into My Work-From-Home Zoom Setup—Now My Webcam Won't Connect

So this morning I was all set for an important Zoom call when I noticed my webcam wasn’t showing up on my laptop at all. I hadn’t changed any settings the night before, but then I spotted my cat sitting right on top of the webcam lens, batting at it like a toy. I gently moved her away, but the webcam still won’t connect in any app, and the device manager just shows it as "unknown device." I’ve tried restarting, uninstalling and reinstalling the webcam driver, and even tested the USB port with other devices - they work fine. I’m worried my curious kitty may have damaged the camera hardware somehow. Has anyone ever dealt with a pet breaking their webcam? Should I try opening it to check inside, or just buy a new one? Any suggestions on a temporary way to keep the cat away from the setup during calls would also help!
