Lately, I’ve been diving back into 80s synthwave music to capture that retro vibe for my painting sessions. I want a playlist that’s upbeat enough to keep me energized but not so intense that it distracts me from the brushwork. I’ve tried mixing classics like M83 and Kavinsky with newer artists like The Midnight, but it feels off - either too modern or too repetitive. Also, I’m working in a small studio with limited soundproofing, so I can’t crank the volume without bothering my neighbors. I’m looking for suggestions on tracks or artists who nail that nostalgic yet chill synthwave sound. Bonus points if the music has some instrumental pieces or minimal vocals. Has anyone found a perfect synthwave playlist that balances energy and calm without getting overwhelming? What’s your go-to song or album for creative focus that still channels that 80s vibe?
