I recently invested in a pretty sweet VR headset and set it up in my shared apartment living room. The visuals and gameplay are incredible, but the built-in speakers and occasional loud game sounds are driving my roommates nuts, especially during late-night sessions. I've tried turning the volume down and using headphones, but the headset’s mic picks up game audio and echoes through the built-in speakers, so noise still leaks out. Plus, I don’t want to miss out on immersive sound by going fully silent. I’ve thought about soundproofing the room or getting a sound isolation booth, but with the limited space and budget, that feels unrealistic. Also, I’m not sure if a better microphone setup could help isolate my voice from the game sounds. Ideally, I want to enjoy VR without the constant complaints or awkward pauses. Has anyone dealt with VR audio bleeding into shared spaces? What are some practical tricks or gear recommendations to keep the game sound immersive for me but quiet enough for others? Would a directional mic or noise-canceling setup make a noticeable difference?
