I recently took a pay cut at work due to company-wide budget adjustments, and it’s really thrown my monthly budgeting off balance. One of the biggest expenses I’m reconsidering is my $50/month gym membership. I go about three times a week, but with the reduced income, I’m starting to feel like that money could be better spent elsewhere. I’ve tried switching to cheaper workout classes nearby, but the timing never quite fits my schedule, and I miss the equipment variety my gym offers. I’m also worried that canceling might hurt my motivation to stay active, which is important for my mental health. Has anyone else had to make a similar cut and found a good balance between saving money and keeping up with fitness? How did you handle the motivation piece after dropping a gym membership or switching to a more budget-friendly option? Any suggestions for affordable ways to stay consistent with workouts would be great!
