I used to be all about audiobooks during my daily commute - recently finished the entire "Harry Potter" series on Audible, and it was such an immersive experience. However, my new job has me driving longer distances with unpredictable breaks, so I switched to podcasts for more bite-sized listening. Problem is, I find myself missing the narrative depth and character development that audiobooks offer. I've tried story-driven podcasts like "Welcome to Night Vale" and "The Magnus Archives," but they don't quite scratch the same itch for me. I want something that keeps me engaged for the whole drive but still feels like a rich story rather than quick updates or interviews. Also, my commute varies in length, so something too serialized can be frustrating if I can't finish an episode in one go. Has anyone found podcasts that really capture that audiobook storytelling vibe without demanding a huge time commitment? Or could you recommend any shorter audiobook series or narrated novels that are great for on-the-go listening?
