My golden retriever has this hilarious habit of bringing me the oddest things she finds around the house or yard. That’s adorable! My cat used to bring me the occasional “gift” too, but it was usually a half-chewed toy mouse or, once, a tiny leaf she’d sneak in from the balcony. Dogs definitely have a knack for picking the weirdest things to show their affection. I think it’s their way of saying, “Look what I found for you!” even if it’s a soggy sock or a wilted flower.

Sometimes I wonder if they think these random items are treasures or if they just want to keep us entertained. Either way, it’s such a sweet quirk that makes their love feel extra special. Does your golden ever get a little confused when you don’t react the way she expects to her “gifts”?
