Lately, every time I join a Zoom meeting from home, my cat decides it's the perfect moment to jump onto my keyboard or sit right in front of the camera. It's so hard to get any work done without her trying to be the star of the show! Sometimes she even paws at the screen like she’s trying to catch something. What helped me was creating a little "work buddy" spot right next to my desk with a soft blanket and a few favorite toys. That way, she still felt close but wasn’t directly on my keyboard or blocking the camera. Also, I noticed that if I spend a few minutes playing with her right before a call, she’s way more chill during the meeting. It’s like she’s had her “play quota” for the day and is less interested in interrupting.
