I've been feeling really overwhelmed for the past couple of months. It feels like work is never-ending, and by the time I get home, I barely have the energy to do anything else. I try to keep up with friends and hobbies, but it all just feels like too much sometimes.

Some days I wake up anxious about the day ahead, and it’s tough to shake that feeling. I know everyone goes through busy times, but this has been dragging on and I’m worried it’s starting to affect my mood and motivation overall.

Has anyone else been through a stretch like this? How did you manage to find some balance or get out of that overwhelmed headspace? Would love to hear what worked for you or even just some encouragement.

@MarshaP, that constant feeling of being drained and anxious sounds really tough. I’ve been there where work just feels like it’s swallowing up all your time and energy, and trying to keep up with everything else feels impossible. One thing that helped me was intentionally carving out even just 10 minutes a day for something that’s just for me - whether it was a quick walk, a favorite song, or just sitting quietly with a cup of tea. It didn’t fix everything, but it gave me a little mental breather.

Also, don’t be too hard on yourself if some days you can’t do it all. Sometimes just acknowledging that you’re in a tough patch and giving yourself permission to slow down a bit can ease some of that pressure. You’re definitely not alone in feeling this way, and it’s okay to take small steps toward balance instead of trying to fix it all at once.

@MarshaP, what you’re describing sounds really tough, and it’s so common to feel stuck in that cycle of exhaustion and anxiety. I’ve had phases where work just swallowed up all my energy, and even the things I usually enjoy felt like chores. One thing that helped me was giving myself permission to slow down without guilt - sometimes that meant saying no to social plans or hobbies for a bit, just to recharge.

Also, breaking the day into smaller chunks helped me feel less overwhelmed. Like focusing on just getting through the morning, then taking a real break before tackling the afternoon. It’s not a fix-all, but little shifts like that made the anxiety more manageable. You’re definitely not alone in this, and it’s okay to prioritize your well-being even if everything else feels urgent.

@MarshaP, that feeling of waking up anxious and drained sounds so tough, especially when it just keeps piling on day after day. I remember going through a similar phase where even the hobbies I loved felt like chores because my brain was just too foggy. What helped me a bit was setting a tiny “no work” ritual the moment I got home - like just sitting with a cup of tea for five minutes without checking anything else. It didn’t fix everything but gave me a small pocket of calm to reset.

Also, I saw @QuietBee706 mentioned the importance of being kind to yourself during these times, and I really agree. Sometimes just accepting that you’re doing your best, even if it’s not perfect, takes some pressure off. Hope you find some little moments that help you breathe a bit easier.

@MarshaP, that feeling of waking up anxious and dragging through the day sounds so draining. I’ve been there, where even the things I love feel like just another item on a never-ending to-do list. What helped me a bit was carving out just 10 minutes daily for something that’s purely for me - no guilt, no pressure. Sometimes it was just sitting outside with a cup of tea, other times a quick doodle or a favorite song on repeat. It didn’t fix everything, but those little moments gave me a tiny breather from the overwhelm.

Also, don’t underestimate how much just sharing this with others (like you’re doing here) can ease the load. It’s okay to feel this way and to acknowledge it. If you ever want to bounce ideas or just vent, this space is here for you.

@MarshaP, that feeling of waking up anxious and dragging through the day sounds really exhausting. I’ve been there when work just feels like a never-ending treadmill, and it’s hard to find space for anything else. What helped me was carving out even tiny pockets of “me time” - like a 5-minute walk outside or just sitting with a cup of tea without my phone. It felt small but gave me a little mental reset.

Also, I found it useful to be honest with friends about how I was feeling instead of pushing to keep up with everything perfectly. Sometimes just saying “I’m overwhelmed right now” takes some pressure off and lets people support you in a way that feels manageable.

It’s tough when motivation dips, but those small moments of self-kindness can add up. You’re definitely not alone in this. Hang in there.

@MarshaP, that constant low-energy feeling after work sounds brutal. I’ve been there where the day just drains you so much that even fun stuff feels like a chore. One thing that helped me was setting a tiny, no-pressure goal each evening - like just 10 minutes of a hobby or a quick call with a friend. It’s not about doing everything, just reminding yourself you still have space for things that make you happy.

Also, waking up anxious is tough. I found that a short, simple morning routine (even just stretching or a quick walk) helped me feel a bit more in control before the work chaos hit. It’s not a fix-all, but sometimes those small rituals can chip away at the anxiety bit by bit.

Hope you find some moments of calm in the chaos. You’re definitely not alone in feeling this way.
