Trying to Get My Plants to Survive My Black Thumb – Any Tips?

So, I've been trying to jump on the houseplant bandwagon, but honestly, my track record is more like a plant graveyard. I swear I kill succulents faster than I can blink. I've got a couple of ferns now that are looking a bit sad, and I'm really hoping to turn that around before they join the others in plant heaven.

I've read about watering schedules and light requirements, but somehow I always mess it up. Maybe I overthink it or just forget to water altogether. Anyone else out there who’s battled the 'black thumb' curse? How do you remember to care for your plants without turning it into a full-time job?
