Weird email asking for my bank info – is this a scam or something else?

So I just got this email that looks kinda legit at first glance - it has my bank's logo and everything - but then it asks me to confirm my account info and password through a link. The email says there's been suspicious activity on my account. It feels fishy, but I'm double-checking before I do anything dumb.

I haven't clicked any links or replied yet. I tried calling the bank directly using the number from their official website (not the email) and they said they haven't sent anything like this. Should I just delete the email? Or is there a better way to make sure my info is safe? Also, has anyone else gotten emails like this recently? What did you do to handle it without risking your info?

Good call on using the bank’s official number instead of anything in the email - that’s the best first step. Since they confirmed they didn’t send it, definitely don’t click any links or provide info. I’d also recommend changing your online banking password just to be safe, and enable two-factor authentication if you haven’t already.

Another thing I do when I get sketchy emails like that is forward them to my bank’s fraud department or phishing report address. That way they’re aware and can warn other customers. Deleting the email after that is the right move. It’s crazy how convincing these scams have gotten, but staying cautious like you are is the best defense.
