So, I was at my mate’s place last night, having a bit of a chill day, you know, the usual. He pulled out this VR headset, Samsung Gear VR to be exact. I must say, I was a bit sceptical at first. I mean, come on, how ‘real’ can a virtual world really feel? Turns out, way more than you’d expect!

I was blowing up zombies, flying through space, I even had a virtual paintball match that felt so intense I was almost searching for cover behind the couch! I didn’t know whether to be impressed or terrified, LOL.

It got me thinking, though.. With long lockdowns this year, could VR be an answer to escapism for some folks? It sure gave me a rush of adrenaline that I haven’t felt since I last went go-karting.

Anyway, I looked up some different VR kits online today, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Sony Playstation VR and all. But, honestly? The price tags gave me a bit of a jump. Is it really worth putting so much money for this bit of tech fun? I’m unsure…

What do you think about VR kits? Worth the cash or just another passing fad? And if you’re into VR already, got any recommendations for a newbie? I’m especially interested in VR games that give a real kick of adrenaline. And how do you handle the motion sickness thing 🤔

Hey, it’s awesome you’re thinking about diving into VR world! I do agree, the price tag is a bit steep but in my opinion, the experiences VR provides are worth every penny. As for motion sickness, it varies from person to person but my trick is taking breaks every 20-30 mins or so. And believe me, the more you play, the less it affects you. About adrenaline-pumping games, have a look at “Beat Saber” or “Superhot VR”, they’re my personal favs. Like anything else, VR’s staying power really depnds on how it evolves with tech. But rn, it’s definitely more than a fad.

Definitely agree with you on the price tag, sometimes feels like you gotta rob a bank to afford a vr kit. But yeah, once you’re in, it’s one heck of a joy ride! Haven’t had issues with motion sickness myself, fingers crossed! Love your game picks, Beat Saber’s a beast and Superhot VR, man it gets your blood pumping. Been hearing good things about Half-Life: Alyx too, you tried that yet? Looks like VR is here to stay, tech evolution aside, I think it’s making a good case for itself already. Can’t wait to see where we’re headed!

Totally get where you’re coming from about that price tag, eye-watering stuff that! I’m crossing my fingers for you on the motion sickness front, not a fun experience, tell you that for free. Beat Saber and Superhot VR, top-tier choices my friend! Half-Life: Alyx? That’s on my list lol. I definitely believe VR’s here to stay, the way it’s evolving is mindblowing. But yeah, the future of this tech is super exciting, man!

Hey, I’m totally with you there, the price tag for VR kits is far from small change! As you’ve mentioned, the risk of motion sickness is another downside to consider. But Beat Saber and Superhot VR are solid picks, trust me, they’re worth every penny. Half-Life: Alyx is a must if you’re into VR. The evolution of VR is indeed mind-blowing, can’t argue with that. We’re standing on the brink of something amazing in the tech world. The possibilities are just endless and it’s all so dang exciting. Can’t wait to see where we’re heading next!

Yeah, VR kits are pretty hefty on the wallet, ain’t they? The motion sickness part can be a deal-breaker for some. Took me a while to get used to it, no joke. Beat Saber and Superhot VR are absolutely top tier. And Half-Life: Alyx? Boy, that’s the golden standard for VR games right there, deffo a must-play. The future of VR has me hyped for sure - like we’re about to take a big leap into the unknown, y’know? Can’t wait to see what’s next!

Yeah, the price tag of VR kits can make your eyes water a bit, can’t it? But I reckon it’s worth every penny when you get into games like Beat Saber and Half-Life: Alyx. I mean, slicing beats in the air or battling aliens in virtual reality? Pretty darn cool!

Motion sickness though, that’s a tough one. Remember, it’s okay to take breaks when you need ’em. VR is intense, and it’s easy to get carried away. Keep hydrated, too! I read somewhere that helps with queasiness.

You’re bang on the money about the future of VR, mate. It’s like stepping into a sci-fi novel, huh? Here’s to the wild ride ahead!

Totally agree with you on the price! But hey, good things often come with a price tag, right? And I gotta say Beat Saber is a total game changer, like a full workout session while having a blast. About motion sickness, totally feel your pain. Ginger candies always help me out, weird as it sounds. Plus they taste pretty good, so win-win. VR is definitely shaping up to be some real-life Star Trek tech. Can’t wait for the day we’re teleporting and whatnot, haha! Until then, let’s just enjoy the ride as it keeps getting better and better. Cheers, mate!

Beat Saber for the win, right? I’ve dropped a few pounds playing that, it’s addictive! I’ve also heard ginger candy helps with motion sickness. I need to give that a try sometime. Imagine VR in 50 years from now, teleporting seems crazy but who knows? As long as the price drops a bit, haha! VR sure is exciting. It’s not perfect yet, but we’re getting there. Until then, guess we’ll keep swinging those sabers.

Oh totally agree on Beat Saber! Such a good workout and makes you sweat, right? As for the motion sickness thing, ginger candy definitely does the trick for me. As weird as this might sound, it sorta settles my stomach down.

Teleporting in VR? That’s wild! But hey, can’t rule anything out considering how tech is advancing. Price wise I’m with you, they sure need to hit a sweet spot there. But hey, VR tech improvement usually means lower prices eventually, fingers crossed!

Anyway, gotta hop back into the matrix and slash some more cubes. Keep swingin’, pal!
