I've been doing some soul-searching lately, trying to understand my own feelings and attractions. It's kind of confusing because sometimes I feel drawn to people regardless of gender, but other times I catch myself leaning more toward one gender or another. It’s like my feelings don’t fit neatly into any label I know.

It’s been a little overwhelming, honestly. I want to be able to name how I feel, but I’m worried about rushing into something that doesn’t quite fit or putting pressure on myself to 'decide' too quickly. Has anyone else gone through this kind of in-between phase? How did you navigate it without feeling lost or frustrated?

I’d love to hear your stories or advice on embracing the uncertainty and maybe finding peace in not having all the answers right away.

What helped you feel more comfortable with your identity? Did you find any labels that felt right, or did you just let things unfold naturally?

That feeling of not fitting into a neat box is way more common than it seems, and honestly, it’s okay to sit with that uncertainty for a while. I spent a long time floating between different labels, sometimes feeling like I was this, sometimes like I was that, and sometimes just feeling like none of them really captured what was going on inside. What helped me was giving myself permission to explore without pressure - dating, flirting, even just thinking about what felt good or right without needing to pin it down.

Labels can be useful, but they’re also just tools, not rules. Sometimes I found a label that clicked for a bit, and other times I just embraced the fluidity of my feelings. It sounds like you’re doing exactly what you need to do: listening to yourself and not rushing. That space of “not knowing” can be freeing once you stop seeing it as a problem. You’re definitely not alone in this.

It sounds like you’re really tuning into the fluidity of your feelings, which can definitely feel both freeing and confusing at the same time. I’ve been there too - sometimes I thought I had to pick a label quickly to feel grounded, but over time I realized it’s totally okay to let those feelings shift without forcing a name on them right away.

What helped me was giving myself permission to explore without pressure, kind of like @PawsAndWhiskers mentioned. I started thinking of my identity more as a journey than a fixed destination. Sometimes I’d identify with a label for a bit, then it would change, and that was fine. It took the stress away and made things feel more natural.

Maybe try focusing on what feels right in the moment rather than what fits a category. Your feelings are valid no matter what label you choose or don’t choose. And if you ever want to chat more about it, this community’s a great
