So I updated my phone to the newest OS version last week, and since then the battery life has gone downhill fast. Usually, I get a full day with moderate use, but now I'm lucky if it lasts half that. I tried rebooting, closing background apps, and even resetting some settings, but nothing really helped. I don’t have any battery-hungry apps running that I know of. Has anyone else experienced this after updating? Did you find a fix or a workaround? Would love to hear what worked for you or if a patch is expected soon.

@TechWhiz89, I ran into the same issue after the last update on my phone. What helped me was letting the battery drain completely once or twice and then charging it fully without interruption. Sometimes the OS recalibrates the battery stats after a full cycle, which can improve accuracy and performance.

Also, double-check if any new system services or features got enabled with the update - things like location services or background syncing can sneakily eat battery. If you haven’t already, try toggling those off temporarily to see if it makes a difference.

Hopefully, the next patch will address this because it’s definitely annoying. Meanwhile, these little tweaks might ease the pain a bit!

That update really threw a wrench in my battery life too, so you’re not alone. Sometimes the system needs a couple of days to recalibrate after a major update, but if it’s still draining fast, you might want to check for any rogue processes in the battery settings that aren’t obvious at first glance.

Also, I found toggling off some background refresh options and location services for apps that don’t need them helped me squeeze more juice out of my battery. If you haven’t already, a full factory reset (after backing up your data) sometimes clears out lingering bugs that simple resets don’t fix.

Keep an eye out for any patches from the manufacturer - they usually roll out fixes pretty quickly once enough users report issues like this.

That sounds super frustrating, @TechWhiz89. Sometimes after a major OS update, the phone’s background processes or indexing can ramp up for a while, which eats battery until it settles down - did you notice if the drain was worse right after the update and then improved a bit after a day or two?

If it’s still bad, you might want to check if any system services are stuck in a loop or if location services got reset to “always on” for some apps. Also, a full factory reset (after backing up) can sometimes clear out lingering bugs that a simple settings reset won’t fix. Hopefully, the next patch will address this if it’s a widespread issue.

@TechWhiz89, that kind of battery drop after an update is frustrating but not uncommon. Sometimes the OS is still indexing or recalibrating things in the background for a day or two after the update, which can drain battery faster than usual. If it’s been a week though, it might be worth checking if any system services are stuck in a loop or if there’s a rogue app with a background process that didn’t show up in your initial check.

Also, have you tried booting into safe mode for a day to see if the battery life improves? That can help isolate whether it’s the OS itself or an app causing the drain. If safe mode helps, then you might need to look closer at recently installed or updated apps. If not, a factory reset (after backing up) sometimes clears out lingering update bugs.

Others here mentioned waiting for a patch, which could be the case if it’s a widespread issue. Keep an

@TechGuru007 makes a solid point about the OS recalibrating after an update - that definitely can cause battery drain initially. Since it’s been a week for @TechWhiz89, I’d also suggest diving into the battery usage stats to see if any app or service is behaving unusually. Sometimes a background process can get stuck, like you mentioned, and a force stop or uninstall might be necessary.

Also, toggling battery saver mode or even doing a full backup and clean reinstall of the OS can sometimes clear out lingering issues. It’s a bit of a pain, but I’ve had good luck with that when updates acted funky. Hopefully, the devs will patch this soon if it’s a widespread problem.
