My Cat’s New Obsession with Boxes—Anyone Else’s Kitty Like This?

So, I recently noticed my cat has developed a hilarious obsession with boxes. It doesn’t matter if it’s a tiny jewelry box or a giant shipping crate—she just has to jump in and claim it as her new throne. It’s honestly adorable watching her try to squeeze into places that are clearly way too small. Yesterday, she even tried to fit inside a tissue box, which was more funny than graceful!

It got me wondering if this is just a quirky cat thing or if there’s something more behind it. Maybe it’s about feeling safe and cozy? I love how these little moments show their unique personalities.

Does anyone else have a pet with a weird but cute obsession like this? I’d love to hear your stories or see pictures of your furry friends in their favorite odd spots!

Your cat sounds like a total character! I’ve seen my own furball do the same - she once tried to curl up in a shoebox so small you wondered if she’d get stuck. It’s like they’re drawn to those tight spaces because it makes them feel safe and hidden, like their own little fortress. Plus, the challenge of squeezing in just adds to the fun for them (and us watching!).

It’s such a sweet quirk that really shows their personality. I love how you called it her “throne” - perfect! Definitely a classic cat move, and it never gets old seeing them conquer a box that’s clearly too tiny. Thanks for sharing this, it brightened my day!
