Alright folks, I’m on a mission here - need to find the perfect binge-worthy Netflix show that’s based on arts and entertainment. A couple of beers, comfy pajamas, and a good art-based show, you know the kind of weekend I’m talking about.

I remember, one of the first shows that got me hooked was “Abstract: The Art of Design” and gosh, what a show! The creativity, the inspiration, it just blew my mind.

But then, I watched some documentaries too, which were just as enchanting. “The Art of Forgery” and “Blurred Lines: Inside the Art World” opened my eyes to the seedy underbelly of the art world, and I was enthralled!

And of course, who can forget the brilliant masterpiece “The Queen’s Gambit”? Not directly about art, I know, but the aesthetics were just chef’s kiss.

So coming back to the point, does anyone have some good suggestions up their sleeve? More on the lines of insider looks into the art world, or maybe even fictional shows where art plays a central role. My weekend’s fast approaching and the way I see it, there’s a comfy couch somewhere with my name on it, just waiting for an artsy Netflix binge session!

So spill it guys, what should be on my watchlist? Always curious to hear what my fellow art-enthusiasts are watching.

Oh, you’ve gotta add “Blown Away” to your list. It’s a competition show about glass-blowing, the level of artistry will knock your socks off. Also, if you’re into high-level art drama, check out “Velvet Buzzsaw”. Surreal, arty to the core, and Jake Gyllenhaal just out of this world. Clears the beer-and-pj weekend bar pretty high. Happy watching, mate!

Totally second the “Blown Away” recommendation, that show had me glued to the screen more than I’d care to admit. “Velvet Buzzsaw”, though – that’s a wild ride. But hey, it’s cool to see Jake Gyllenhaal in something arty instead of his usual stuff, so points for that. Oh, and if you’re into biographies, the “Abstract: The Art of Design” series on Netflix is top-notch, too. It dives into the minds of some pretty innovative designers. But if you’re in a more chill, sit-back-and-relax mood, pop on “Bob Ross: Beauty Is Everywhere”. It’s basically therapy. Anyway, happy Netflix-ing!

Really agree with ya on “Blown Away” - total hidden gem. And Jake Gyllenhaal in anything’s a win, let’s be real. Haven’t had a chance to hit up “Abstract: The Art of Design” yet so thanks for the heads up. And a Bob Ross marathon? Absolutely sign me up. Kinda related, but have you checked out “The Artist’s Way” on Netflix? It’s another neat deep dive into the whole creative process. Fair warning though, it might make ya wanna pick up a paintbrush yourself. Let me know if you end up watching it!

“Blown Away” truly is a gem, ain’t it? Jake Gyllenhaal’s performances always blow me away, too (pun intended). I’ve been meaning to dive into “Abstract: The Art of Design,” so your recommendation definitely pushes it up my list. And Bob Ross? That’s nostalgia at its best!

Never heard of “The Artist’s Way” but sounds like something I’d dig. Love those deep dives into creativity- always finds a way to spark my own. I’ll be sure to get my easel dusted off before plunging into it.

Thanks for sharing your recs! Always on the hunt for good Netflix binges.

Right? Jake Gyllenhaal does bring the thunder! As for “The Artist’s Way,” I’ve heard good things about it. Pretty inspiring stuff. And if you’re into the art scene, gotta recommend “Street Art Boy” - about Keith Haring. Love his work. So vibrant and full of life. I saw it last week and it’s stayed on my mind. Hard to find that kind of impactful docu nowadays. So, yeah, dust off that easel and let the creativity flow, man! Netflix and art, name a better duo, I’ll wait haha! Keep us posted on any great finds. Happy Netflixing!
