I've been having this annoying issue where my laptop's Wi-Fi just drops out randomly. It doesn't seem to be tied to any specific app or website, and sometimes it reconnects automatically but other times I have to manually reconnect. I've tried restarting the router and updating my network drivers, but nothing seems to stick.

My laptop is running Windows 10, and this started happening after the last update, though I'm not 100% sure if they're related. Other devices on the same network are totally fine, so I doubt it's the router itself. I've also checked power settings to make sure the Wi-Fi adapter isn't set to turn off to save power, but that didn't help either.

Has anyone else dealt with this? Any tweaks or settings I might have missed that could stabilize the connection? Would appreciate any tips or tricks to stop the random disconnects!

Sounds frustrating! Since you’ve already checked drivers and power settings, one thing I’d try is resetting the network stack via Command Prompt. Run these commands one by one as admin:

netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns

After that, reboot and see if the Wi-Fi stabilizes. Sometimes Windows updates mess with network configs, and this reset can help. Also, if your laptop has any third-party VPN or security software, try disabling it temporarily—I've seen those cause random drops too.

Hope this helps! If it keeps acting up, it might be worth checking for a BIOS update or even rolling back the last Windows update if you suspect that’s the culprit.

That sounds super annoying! Since you’ve already ruled out the router and power settings, another thing to check is if any recent Windows updates might be causing conflicts with your Wi-Fi adapter.
