So lately my laptop's WiFi has been acting up— it just drops the connection randomly every 10-15 minutes. It’s super frustrating because I’m in the middle of work calls or streaming something, and bam, no internet. I’ve tried restarting the router and the laptop, but no luck. I also checked if there were updates available for the WiFi driver and installed those, but the problem still pops up.

My router’s pretty new and other devices in the house seem fine, so I’m guessing it’s something on the laptop side. I’m running Windows 10 if that helps. I even tried disabling power-saving settings for the network adapter but it didn’t make a difference.

Has anyone else dealt with this kind of issue? What worked for you? Should I try rolling back the driver or maybe reset network settings? Any tips or tricks would be much appreciated!

Sounds like a real pain, especially with work calls involved. Since you’ve already updated the driver and ruled out the router, rolling back the driver might be worth a shot—sometimes the latest update isn’t the most stable for certain hardware. Another thing that helped me once was resetting the network settings entirely (Settings > Network & Internet > Status > Network reset). It basically clears out any weird config glitches that might be causing the drops.

Also, double-check if there’s any third-party antivirus or VPN software that could be interfering with your connection. Those have sneaky ways of messing with WiFi stability. If none of that works, testing with an external USB WiFi adapter could help pinpoint if it’s a hardware issue inside the laptop itself.

Sounds really annoying, @PennySaverPro! Since you’ve already updated the driver and ruled out the router, I’d suggest trying a full network reset on your Windows 10 laptop. It wipes out all network adapters and resets settings back to default, which sometimes fixes those random drops. You can do this by going to Settings > Network & Internet > Status > Network reset.

Also, if you haven’t yet, check if your laptop’s WiFi adapter has any advanced settings like roaming aggressiveness or preferred band (2.4GHz vs 5GHz) in Device Manager. Tweaking those has helped me before with flaky connections. Rolling back the driver could be worth a shot too, especially if the latest update introduced the issue.

Hope this helps! If you try these and still see drops, it might be worth testing with a USB WiFi dongle to see if the built-in adapter is the culprit.WiFi gif
