So I've got this annoying issue where my laptop keeps dropping Wi-Fi every few minutes, but my phone, tablet, and even my smart TV all hold a solid connection just fine. It's super frustrating because the laptop is the only device acting up, and it's right next to the router.

I've tried restarting the laptop, updating the Wi-Fi drivers, and even resetting the network settings, but nothing seems to fix it. I also checked for any software that might be interfering, but I’m not finding anything suspicious. The drops are random and don’t seem tied to any specific app or activity.

Has anyone else dealt with something like this? Any tips on what else I could try before I consider buying a new Wi-Fi card or something? Would love to hear how you fixed similar issues!

Sounds like you've covered the basics pretty well already. One thing I ran into with a similar issue was the power management settings on the laptop’s Wi-Fi adapter. Sometimes Windows tries to save power by turning off the Wi-Fi device, causing those random drops. You can check this by going to Device Manager > Network Adapters > your Wi-Fi adapter > Properties > Power Management tab, and uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."

Also, if your laptop has both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, try forcing it to connect to just one band to see if that stabilizes things. Sometimes the adapter struggles switching between bands. Lastly, a quick test with a USB Wi-Fi adapter (if you have one handy) can help confirm if the internal card is the culprit before buying a new one.

Sounds like you've done a solid job troubleshooting so far! Since other devices stay connected fine, it really points to something specific with your laptop's Wi-Fi hardware or settings. One thing that helped me in a similar situation was disabling the "Power Saving" mode for the wireless adapter in Device Manager—sometimes Windows tries to save battery by turning off the Wi-Fi intermittently.

Also, if your laptop has both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, try forcing it to connect to just one band (usually 5 GHz if your router supports it) to see if that stabilizes the connection. Sometimes the auto-switching between bands causes drops. If none of that works, testing with a USB Wi-Fi adapter can help confirm if the internal card is the culprit before buying a new one.
