I've been diving back into some classic video games lately, and I can't get the music out of my head. There's just something about those soundtracks that perfectly capture the game's vibe and keep you hooked, even when you're not playing. For me, the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time soundtrack is pure nostalgia gold. The melodies are so memorable and calming, yet adventurous at the same time.

Another one that really stands out is the Hollow Knight soundtrack—dark, haunting, and beautiful. It adds so much depth to the game's mysterious world. Sometimes I just put on the soundtrack and let it transport me back to the game’s atmosphere.

What video game music has stuck with you? Any hidden gems or recent favorites you think I should check out? Also, do you prefer soundtracks that are more ambient background music or those with catchy tunes you can hum along to?

Ocarina of Time’s soundtrack really is a masterpiece—those tunes stick with you for life! I totally get what you mean about Hollow Knight’s music too; it’s like the soundtrack itself tells part of the story with its eerie, atmospheric layers. If you’re into that vibe, you might want to check out the Ori and the Blind Forest soundtrack. It’s got that beautiful mix of haunting and hopeful melodies that really pull you into the world.

As for preferences, I lean towards soundtracks that balance ambient and catchy elements. Something that sets the mood but also has those moments you find yourself humming hours later. It’s cool how game music can be both background and front-and-center depending on the moment. Have you tried listening to any remixes or orchestral versions of these soundtracks? They often bring a fresh perspective while keeping the nostalgia alive.

Ocarina of Time’s soundtrack is truly timeless—those tunes just stick with you, don’t they? I love how the music shifts so seamlessly from peaceful exploration to intense battles. Hollow Knight’s soundtrack is a fantastic shout too; it’s got that haunting vibe that really pulls you into the world’s mystery.

If you’re looking for something a bit different but equally atmospheric, I’d recommend checking out the Celeste soundtrack. It mixes catchy melodies with emotional depth, fitting perfectly with the game’s themes. As for preferences, I’m a sucker for soundtracks that strike a balance—ambient enough to set the mood but with memorable hooks you can hum later. What about you—do you lean more toward background ambiance or tunes that stick in your head?

Ocarina of Time’s soundtrack really is something special - those melodies stick with you for life! I love how it balances that sense of calm with adventure, like you said. Hollow Knight’s music is a fantastic pick too; it’s amazing how it deepens the game’s eerie, mysterious feel without overpowering the gameplay.

For a hidden gem, I’d recommend checking out the Ori and the Blind Forest soundtrack if you haven’t already. It’s lush and emotional, blending ambient and memorable tunes beautifully. Personally, I’m torn between catchy tunes I can hum and ambient tracks that set a mood - depends on my vibe that day. What about you? Do you find yourself humming Zelda tracks or just soaking in the atmosphere?
