Okay, I’ve gotta get this off my chest. Potholes. They’re absolutely everywhere and it’s infuriating. I mean, our council tax is through the roof and all… but still I feel like I’m on some obstacle course every time I take the car out.

Hit one last week, BAM, that’s a new tyre down the drain. Even when I’m super careful, it’s like playing whack-a-mole with these bad boys, they pop up all over the place. And don’t even get me started about at night when it’s basically a case of Russian roulette as I navigate the streets.

Plus, it’s not like our city is humongous or anything. I know there’s a pandemic going on, but come on, is it too much to ask to get some semblance of a smooth road? I swear if there’s one more ‘maintenance work in progress’ sign which literally translates to ‘watch out, pothole minefield ahead’ and I see no actual work happening, I might lose it.

And cyclists, my thoughts go out to you. Honestly, potholes from hell and bikes are just an accident waiting to happen.

Might start a petition to the local council about it, actually. Has anyone done this before? Is it a waste of time or can we make a difference if enough people chip in? I’d be eager to kick something off if others are 🤔

Man, I feel your pain. Had to change a busted tyre myself last week due to one of these pesky potholes. It’s a nightmare! But hey, starting a petition sounds like a solid idea. Haven’t personally done it before, but if you get enough support from the locals, I bet it could make a difference. And, worst case scenario if they don’t listen, gets the conversation going, right? Count me in if you decide to do it. Let’s not just gripe but do something about it!

Absolutely, making a legit fuss about it might just be what we need to wake the right people up. Potholes are about more than flat tyres, man. They’re a safety hazard too. Initiating a petition is a fab idea, but also consider contacting your local council directly. They need to hear our individual stories. Last year, my neighbor messed up his whole suspension system because of these craters. Keep us posted on the petition mate, I’m in!

Totally feel you on the pothole issue! It’s like playing a real-life game of dodge-the-pothole, except it’s damaging and dangerous. A petition is indeed a solid step in the right direction. Maybe we could also organize a local meet-up, gather those affected and hash out a strong case to present to the council. A combo of signatures and personal accounts might just do the trick. Would you guys be down for that? And if you start that public petition, count me in!

Yeah, dodging potholes feels like some awful video game, doesn’t it? 😂 Petition sounds like a plan and I’m all in for it! The idea of a local meet-up is spot on- nothing like showing the council real, annoyed faces behind those signatures. Maybe we could gather some photographic proof to sweeten our case? Say cheese next to those annoying potholes? 🧀 Just an idea!

I’m with you on this, potholes are such a menace! The idea of a petition is brilliant, count me in! And the local meet-up sounds like it’ll be effective. Photos are a good idea, let’s document this madness. Although, lol, not too excited about my photo op being with a pothole, what a strange world we live in… 📸😂 Let’s hope the council sees that we mean business. Dare I suggest we grab some of that caution tape and mark out the worst offenders? Might help avoid some accidents while we wait for action!

Haha, photo op with a pothole? That’s a first, but hey, no publicity is bad publicity, right? 😂 Love the idea of the caution tape, it kind of adds to the dramatic appeal while helping us avoid accidents. Let’s hope the council actually takes note. Speaking from past experience, it might also help if we could get a local news outlet to cover our little ‘operation pothole’. The more exposure, the better. They can’t ignore us if we’re making headlines! 💪🏽📰🔦

That’s a cracking idea! 😄 A bit of public shaming usually gets the council moving. Maybe we can get even more creative, how about dressing up as construction workers next to the pothole? Imagine the headlines, “Local residents take matter into their own hands” or “Pothole problem prompts pretend patrol”! Absolutely something the local news would love. Just remember to stay safe and not to actually try to fill it ourselves, wouldn’t want anyone getting hurt!

Haha, love that idea! A little bit of street theatre to make a point, eh? The visual of a bunch of disgruntled neighborhood folks pretending to fix potholes is hilarious. The news would eat that up, for sure. Just remember, safety first guys! Dressing up and pretending to work is all fun and games until someone actually gets hurt. And who knows, maybe this will show the council that we’re serious about our roads. Let’s get the hi-vis vests out!

Cracked up at the idea of us all playing pretend construction workers! Full safety gear and those bright orange cones around the “worksite” would be a riot. Make sure to use those fake, squeaky hammers from the kids’ toy shop, we don’t need a hospital trip ruining the perfect headline. And yeah, hopefully, it’ll shake up the council a bit. If humour doesn’t work, I don’t know what will. Crossing fingers they’ll finally step up and fix our bumpy roads! I call dibs on bringing donuts to the scene for the ‘workers’.

Haha, this made my day! Absolutely love the idea of you guys going full ‘pretend construction worker’, complete with those squeaky hammers. You never know, a little bit of humor might just do the trick and get the council’s attention to those pesky potholes. Just be careful not too block traffic or anything. Oh, and dibs on bringing the coffee to go along with those donuts. Let’s keep our ‘workers’ energized, right? Keep us updated if anything changes, I’m invested in this now!
