Lately, I've been on this kick to overhaul my mornings. I've tried all the usual advice — waking up early, journaling, stretching — but somehow it never lasts more than a week. Somehow, I always end up snoozing my alarm more than I’d like and rushing out the door feeling frazzled. I think part of the problem is I try to do too much at once and expect immediate results. This week, I’m scaling it back to just one small habit: making my bed right after I get up. It sounds so simple, but I’m hoping it gives me a tiny sense of accomplishment to build on. Also, I’m experimenting with prepping my coffee the night before so there’s less to think about in the morning. Has anyone else struggled with sticking to a morning routine? What small habits helped you build momentum without feeling overwhelmed?

Making your bed right after getting up is such a smart move — it’s like a tiny win that sets a positive tone without feeling like a big chore. I’ve found that keeping one simple, achievable habit each week really helps me avoid that overwhelmed feeling you mentioned. Prepping coffee the night before sounds like a game-changer too; mornings are so much smoother when you remove decision fatigue.

One small thing that worked for me was leaving my workout clothes out the night before. It’s a subtle nudge that gets me moving without overthinking it. Sometimes it’s those little environmental tweaks that make sticking to a routine easier. You’re definitely on the right track by scaling back and focusing on one habit at a time — that’s how lasting change happens!

Scaling back to just one habit like making your bed sounds like a solid plan. It’s amazing how something so small can really shift your mindset for the day. I’ve been there with the snooze button struggle—it’s like a battle every morning! Prepping coffee the night before is genius; it removes one little decision that can feel huge when you’re half-asleep.

One thing I’ve noticed is that celebrating these tiny wins helps keep motivation up. Even if it’s just a quick stretch or setting out your clothes for the day, it feels like you’re building momentum without the pressure. Sometimes it’s less about the routine itself and more about the feeling of control it gives you before the day even starts.
