Just got a pair of wireless earbuds (SuperSound X2) and they sound great, but the connection keeps dropping randomly. It’s super annoying, especially when I’m jogging or moving around my apartment. I’ve tried resetting the earbuds, unpairing and pairing again with my phone, and even checked for firmware updates (there weren’t any). I’m using an Android phone, and the Bluetooth version is 5.0. The drops happen even when I’m close to the phone, so I don’t think it’s a range issue. Sometimes the audio cuts out for a couple of seconds, then comes back. I’m wondering if it’s a compatibility thing or maybe interference from other devices? Has anyone else had similar issues with wireless earbuds? What did you do to fix it? Would love to hear any tips or tricks before I consider returning these!

That sounds super frustrating! I had a similar issue with my wireless earbuds where the connection would drop randomly, especially when moving around. One thing that helped me was turning off other nearby Bluetooth devices or Wi-Fi gadgets temporarily to see if interference was the culprit—sometimes multiple signals in the same frequency can mess with the connection.

Also, try toggling your phone’s Bluetooth off and on again, and if your phone has a “Bluetooth scanning” or location permission for Bluetooth enabled, try disabling that—it can sometimes cause weird behavior. If you’re jogging, make sure the earbuds fit snugly; loose fit can sometimes cause connection hiccups if the earbuds shift too much.

If none of that works, it might be worth testing the earbuds with another phone or device to see if the problem persists. That could help pinpoint if it’s a compatibility or hardware issue. Hope you get it sorted without having to return them!

Sounds frustrating! Sometimes with Bluetooth earbuds, even if the range isn’t an issue, interference from Wi-Fi routers, microwaves, or even other Bluetooth devices nearby can cause those random dropouts. You might try turning off other nearby Bluetooth gadgets or moving away from your Wi-Fi router temporarily to see if that helps.

Also, since you’re on Android, some users have found that toggling the “Bluetooth audio codec” settings (like switching between AAC, SBC, or aptX if your earbuds support it) can stabilize the connection. You can usually find this in Developer Options under Bluetooth settings. Worth a shot before returning them!

Lastly, some earbuds just have quirks with certain phone models or Android versions, so if you have access to another phone, testing there could help isolate if it’s a device compatibility issue. Hope this helps you keep enjoying those tunes without the annoying drops!

Hey @MellowCat106, I totally get where you’re coming from—random drops can kill the vibe, especially when you’re on the move. One thing that helped me was checking for any apps running in the background that might mess with Bluetooth, like fitness trackers or even Wi-Fi scanning apps. Sometimes those can cause interference even if you’re close to your phone.

Also, if you haven’t already, try toggling the Bluetooth codec settings on your Android (usually under Developer Options). Switching from AAC to SBC or aptX can sometimes stabilize the connection, depending on what your earbuds and phone support. It’s a bit of trial and error, but worth a shot before giving up on those SuperSound X2s!

Sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my wireless buds where the connection would drop even though I was right next to my phone. One thing that helped me was turning off Wi-Fi on my phone temporarily to see if there was interference—Bluetooth and Wi-Fi often share frequencies, so sometimes they clash. Also, try disabling any battery optimization settings for your earbuds in Android; sometimes the OS aggressively cuts Bluetooth connections to save power.

If you’re still stuck, testing the earbuds with another device could help pinpoint if it’s the phone or the earbuds themselves. I know you mentioned no firmware updates, but some brands have hidden beta updates or companion apps that might improve stability. Otherwise, if it keeps happening during movement, it could be a hardware issue with the earbuds’ antenna or mic placement, which might be worth mentioning if you contact support or consider a return.

Hey @TechWhizKid, I had a similar issue with my earbuds where the connection would randomly drop even when I was close to the phone. One thing that helped me was turning off other Bluetooth devices nearby to reduce interference—sometimes even Wi-Fi routers or microwaves can mess with the signal. Also, try toggling the “Bluetooth scanning” option in your phone’s location settings; it’s weird, but it helped stabilize my connection.

Since you mentioned your Bluetooth version is 5.0, compatibility shouldn’t be a big problem, but sometimes Android’s Bluetooth stack can be quirky with certain earbuds. If you haven’t already, testing the earbuds with another phone or device might help isolate if it’s the earbuds or your phone causing the issue.

Lastly, I saw some folks in another thread mention that disabling battery optimization for the Bluetooth app on Android helped prevent drops. Worth a shot before you decide to return them!

Sounds frustrating! Since you’ve ruled out range and firmware, it might be worth checking if any other nearby devices are causing interference—WiFi routers, microwaves, or even other Bluetooth gadgets can mess with the signal. Sometimes switching your phone’s Bluetooth off and on again after moving to a different room helps too.

Also, some earbuds have a “single earbud” mode or a way to reset the Bluetooth cache on your phone (under Settings > Apps > Bluetooth > Storage > Clear Cache). It’s a bit hidden but can fix weird connection drops. If you’re jogging, sweat or movement might also affect the connection, so maybe try a snugger fit or different ear tips if possible.

Not sure if you’ve tried this, but pairing the earbuds with a different device temporarily could help isolate whether it’s the earbuds or your phone causing the issue. If it’s the earbuds, the manufacturer might have a warranty or replacement option. Hope that helps
