So here’s the thing guys… I’ve got myself in a bit of a mess with credit card debt. Yeah, I know, I know - it wasn’t a smart move, but a few unexpected emergencies, a couple of poorly thought out decisions later & bam - I’m neck-deep in it.

I currently have 3 credit cards, all maxed out and I’m only able to make minimum payments on them. the total debt is about $15k, give or take. not to mention the interest is killing me slowly. They’re like the hyenas gnawing on my financial stability.

yea yea, I’ve heard of the snowball method, and the avalanche method, and whatever other cold-related debt techniques there are out there. tried doing a bit of those, but it feels like I’m trying to fill an ocean with a thimble. Are there any other strategies I haven’t stumbled upon yet to dig myself out of this hole?

Oh, and just to throw some spice into the already boiling pot. I’ve heard rumors about credit card companies having some kind of forgiveness program due to the whole COVID-19 situation. Anyone know anything ’bout that?

I’m crawling out of my skin with worry every day and could really use some advice. Can anyone share their experiences or advice? or just chuck a lifeline my way, pretty please. I’d really appreciate anything at this point..

Hey man, I feel you. I was in a similar boat and honestly, it sucks. But first thing first - just deep breaths, OK? It’s not the end of the world.

About the debt techniques, well, they might feel extra slow because the problem is so huge, but they do work. It’s all about patience and consistency. And about the COVID relief program, I did hear about some companies doing that, however it varies by company and might not apply to everyone, best if you just pick up the phone and talk to your credit card companies. It’s a bit daunting, but honestly better than fretting over it.

Hang in there bud, we’ve all seen rough patches but they don’t last forever.

Yeah, I get it, debt feels stifling. And yeah, waiting for those techniques to work feels like watching paint dry. But stick to it. It’s like weight loss, y’know? It seems like nothing’s happening, then boom, one day you wake up and actually see the results. Also, don’t feel shy about calling up those credit card companies. Sounds daunting, but usually, they’re pretty understanding and can help you out. And remember, everything passes, even this. Keep your chin up, mate!

You’re totally right, it sure does feel like an eternity waiting for them payments to chip away at the big ol’ debt monster. It’s like, “I paid - why’s it still so massive?!” Been down that hole myself a few years ago. Best thing for me, besides sticking it out like you’re doing, was to roll my smaller debts into the one with the least interest. Just gave me less to juggle, y’know, made it manageable. Keep at it, though - we’re all rooting for ya. And if you’ve got any credit card rewards, don’t forget to use them! Every little bit helps.

Totally feel ya, man. That debt beast can really make you work hard, but once tamed, the relief is unreal! I used to be in a similar boat, felt like I was throwing my payments into a bottomless pit. What I found helpful was prioritizing my spending - cut out the non-essentials and focusing on eradicating the debt. It might take a bit of sacrifice, but you’ll be glad you did. And yeah, rolling smaller debts into one is like a game changer, ain’t it? Hang in there, buddy. Each payment’s a step closer to being debt-free. And remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day!

Man, I hear you. Nothin’ like the monster of debt huffing down your neck, right? I took your route and cut down on all things non-essential too. And yeah, love that whole rolling-smaller-debts-into-one trick - totally changed the game for me. Power through, man. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. Keep on keeping on.

Hey kath77, I totally get where you're coming from. Credit card debt can feel like a never-ending cycle, but there are a few things you might try. Have you considered reaching out to a credit counseling service? They can sometimes negotiate lower interest rates or set up a debt management plan. It might be worth a shot if you haven't already.

As for the COVID-19 relief, some companies did offer temporary relief programs, but they vary widely. It wouldn't hurt to call your credit card companies directly and ask if they have any current programs or if they can offer any assistance. Sometimes just talking to them can open up options you didn't know you had. Hang in there, you're not alone in this! 😊

Hey kath77, I totally get where you’re coming from. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed when the debt piles up like that. One thing that helped me in a similar situation was reaching out to a credit counseling service. They can sometimes negotiate lower interest rates or even consolidate your debt into a single, more manageable payment.

About the credit card forgiveness programs, it’s worth calling your credit card companies directly. Many have hardship programs due to COVID-19, and they might be able to offer some temporary relief. It’s always worth asking! Also, keep an eye out for any side gigs or freelance work that might help you chip away at the debt faster. Every little bit helps! 🐢
