Are foldable phones just a gimmick?

So, I've been seeing a lot of buzz around foldable phones recently. Samsung, Huawei, and even Google are all in the game now. They look super cool and futuristic, but I can't help but wonder if they're just a gimmick or if they actually offer something practical. Back in the day, I had one of those flip phones and thought I was the coolest kid on the block. I guess there's some nostalgia factor here, but is it worth the hefty price tag?
