[Guide] Ultimate PC Security Guide - Malware
#1
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~ Ulimate PC Security Guide ~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

In this guide i'm going to show you how you can keep your computer clean from Virus', Keyloggers, Malware, Trojans, Phishers ect.

I cannot guarantee all of these methods will work for you, as some if not most Virus', Trojans, Keyloggers ect are FUD (Full Undetectable). But we will work cleaning your computer up with Various tools which can be found on the internet.

Heres some steps we need to follow before we begin.

Download these programs please:

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.
Ad-Aware.

Okay, now to start off with, you might want to save this guide to your desktop, as you'll be running your computer in what they call "Safe" mode, you will also be offline. So, if you have a laptop and a flash drive it will come in handy.

Firstly, We need to install Malwarebytes Anti-Malware this can be obtained from:

http://www.malwarebytes.org

Please obtain a copy of the Free version.

Download this to your My Documents folder.

And run it and then install.

Once this has been installed the first thing we need to do is update the database. This is very important, as it's updated daily to find new kinds of virus' ect.

Now, Once this is done. Please do a "Full System Scan" Also, you need to scan ALL Drives.

Please note: This may take quite a bit of time, depending on your system/drive space ect.

Now once this is done, if you have some Malware on your computer then click on "Removed Selected" Tick all of the boxes, and click on "Remove Selected".

Okay, now that's Malware bytes down for now.

Now, we need to download Ad-Aware Free Edition. This can be downloaded from:

http://www.snapfiles.com/reviews/Ad-Aware/adaware.html

Now, please download this and install it, just like you did with the Malwarebytes we need to update it to the latest Ad-Aware database.

You might think this does the same thing as Malwarebytes, so i will skip this step. If you'd like to skip this step then that's upto you, but i'd advise that you carry on, as Ad-Aware might find something that Malwarebytes does not.

Please note: This installation file is 73.5mb. So, if your on a slow connection i'd advise you skip this step. Or you can use one of the Online virus' scanners that's going to be posted at the bottom of the guide.

Once installed open up the program.

Once opened, it should automatically update. But if it doesn't, then follow these steps (please bare in mind that you will need to follow these steps next time you need to update if you don't set it to automatically update.)

Scan your computer, and then click done.

Reboot your computer into "Safe" mode and do this whole presidure again.

How to boot into "Safe" mode.

Many times in order to remove a piece of spyware or for troubleshooting and diagnostic purposes, you'll have to start Windows in Safe Mode. While in Safe Mode, only specific programs and files needed to run the operating system are loaded. Some functions, such as connecting to the Internet, will not be active in Safe Mode and a standard video driver will be loaded causing a washed out look and a possible change in resolution.
However, because just the essential programs and files are loaded in Safe Mode, this allows us to remove some spyware, adware, viruses and such that cannot be removed in Normal Mode. Follow the instructions below to Start Safe Mode for your specific version of Windows. If you are trying to delete a file that is not allowing you to delete it (even in Safe Mode), you may want to read my article on How to Delete an Undeletable File.

Included at the bottom of the article are instructions for starting Windows Vista in Safe Mode too.

Just after the POST diagnostics and memory count, start pressing the F8 key
On the Startup Menu, choose Safe Mode
