What is the best program to buy if you are trying to get into graphic design?

Adobe Photoshop??? Does everyone start on that or what?? I just wanna play around with it and stuff, i want to do a course in graphic design when i leave school but i think itd help if i was a little familiar with the programs used.....
And is there anywhere i can download it.... haha im sorry i dont have a whole load of money right now

Use photoshop cs6. They have a crack that is so simple to do, literally, all you do is open it and click continue. I will have to look for it, but it is amazing.

Starting with Photoshop is always a good start.
I've heard GIMP is also good, but I've never been really fond of it.
