I'm surprised more people don't use itunes. I thought almost everyone used itunes. I find it really easy to use and it preserves the quality of the files.

ha ha! I kinda liked it but I prefer media jukebox since it's got an awesome DSP and it's very complex.

I personally use VLC for my music needs. ^^
It's fast and simple unlike the Windows Media Player.

I used to use UMPlayer, because it has support for Mac, Linux, and Windows, with over 100 built in codecs, however, I find XMPlay very adaptable for just basic music files, and it's faster to load because of it's simplicity, otherwise Windows Media Player (latest version) is what I use for movies most of the time.

I use iTunes and vlc. They are easiest to put movies to my idevices and laptop.
