Pc problem all help intended

network- 802.11b/g/draft-n 10/100 mbps ethernet 56k itu v.92 readyfax/modem
Ports/connectors 3usb, 1 hdmi, 1 vga, 1 expresscard/ 54 1 headphone spdif audio out. 1 microphone, 1 kensington lock slot 1ac adapter.

K: the problem is starting up sometimes able to log in and edit a few things, but majority of the time it goes bsod on startup we got errors on the bsod that say pfm_list_corrupt, irql_not_less_or_equa, and driver irql_not_less_or_equa. system_service_exception. i have googled for solutions but found none helpful. or unable to perform the task.

I have attempted to system restore, but no restore points. safe mode, windows repair all gives bsod.

You seem to have problems with some driver.

You should deinstall drivers one by one starting from the newest you have installed...
Or maybe removing the Hardware that causes the problem

If you are not able to fix it, maybe you could try to run the Repair option, from the Windows Recovery Console.

You would need to boot with a Windows setup CD, unless you have that program already installed on your PC.

If you don't know it, there is a guide for that here:

it only takes afew minutes or so, and usually brings the system back to a working state, replacing any missing or corrupted files.

If really necessary, you could maybe re-install Windows, non-destructively.

There are a couple of ways to re-install Windows.

Either onto a new partiton, or even an existing Windows OS partiton, without losing your data, it depends on how you do it.

The second method is not really recommended, but I've done it for years without any problems.

You could, for example, install a new version of Windows, into an installation folder called Windows1, for example, or install it onto a new partiton, it's up to you.

I would also upgrade to SP3 if I were you, as it's more enhanced for security.

the chances of me actually being able to do that are very slim for one. its a friends computer and when i am with him he cant do anything on his pc without getting bsod no way i would ever be able to get the dumps in time before it bsod's again.
