Crashes

FirefoxWiz Wrote:Tell us how it works out Papa. Just remember, it'll have the default settings. No extensions/themes/ or bookmarks.

But if you did that bookmark thing that automaticly updates them you should be able to get your bookmarks back.

Yes, that was one of the few things I remembered to do. I've installed two themes and just a very few extensions (five or six) that I couldn't possibly live without. So far, so good.

Now that I think about it, an interesting thing happened right before I started getting these crashes. I had just installed some extension updates, including the StumbleUpon update. Right after I installed it, my StumbleUpon toolbar (which, up to then extended slightly more than half way across the width of the browser) was spread all the way across the width of the browser and eventually past the end. (I had to click the pulldown menu to get to the last button or two.) After I had closed and opened my browser, its width was shorter but still twice as long as it had been. I've installed the StumbleUpon extension and it's back to normal. Strange, eh?

Very strange. That update might of been what caused the crashes. Think so?

Please keep us updated and tell if you have anymore crashes!

Thanks, Beta! I've had no crashes since I did this and I think I may have found the problem. I just clicked on "Stumble" and it took me to FF's StumbleUpon extension page and it said that there was an update that fixed a conflict with Google toolbar. Remember that I said that the StumbleUpon toolbar started looking funny after I installed the last update? Well, I'd bet my cell phone against a peanut butter cookie that the StumbleUpon extension was the problem. It's been stable for awhile now so I'm gonna add my extensions back slowly (one or two at a time) and see if everything holds together.

Yup I remember. That was probably it then. Yeah. Add your extensions in one at a time to make sure one doesn't make FF crash!

Uhhh...sorry. I didn't see this.

No, I haven't had any more problems. The problems went away when I installed FF on a different drive.

That's odd.
Maybe something corrupt happened to Firefox on the old drive, so when re-installing it on the new drive, it was like a fresh install with no problems.
