7 > XP?
#31
Windows 7 > Windows XP (in GUI terms)
Windows XP > Windows 7 (in administration terms)

I know thats a bit hard to follow, but my main problem with windows 7 was that to do simple tasks, especially with my network connections, I could not find anything that would let me do it. There was all the simple tasks that could be performed presented right in front of you, but when it came to a more advanced option, i couldn't find it!

But when I went back to Windows XP, i missed all the cool GUI tricks, like the shake window to make it "un-clutter" your screen, or the slamming of the program against one wall to resize it!

Really, Windows 7 is very powerful (better then vista defiantly) and very good for intermediate users.

Please elaborate on the "simple tasks" that you were unable to do in W7.

Perhaps I could help you, after all I've never had a problem I was unable to correct when using it.

Sharing the internet THROUGH my computer, with my Xbox 360.
This was done with a few clicks on XP, but when i was trying to set up the connection in Windows 7, i can remember getting really frustrated and swearing for ages, before i finally gave up.
It doesn't matter anymore, I installed a virtual box, and that messed with my system so bad that i had to format.
So now I'm back on XP!

One of my mates is going to get me the release copy of Windows 7 soon though, because he is in charge of a whole bunch of school servers in NSW (Australia). He received a copy a few months ago, this was meant to be used for installing on the laptops being handed out by schools, but apparently it hasn't been used, and has a commercial key.

The guy was talking about going and download a copy of Win7 RC right now... My post say's that 'You CANNOT get a RC copy anymore'... It has nothing to do with Pre-Ordering your Win7...

Just to clarify that one...

Go for it! Aside from a few compatibility issues (that will no doubt be ironed out) this OS is the best one yet...
