Unfortunately I haven't got one. I do have an old PS/2 keyboard. But even with that it's freezing up.
So far I've tried: * System Restore * Cleaning registry/old files/etc * Removing all startup items * PS/2 keyboard And none worked... When I turn on my computer, it never freezes at the login screen. If I plug in a keyboard for a second just to type in the password and hit enter and then unplug it. The computer will load fine but crash again after about 5 - 10 minutes.

do you have a partition? you can try using a live cd first, then save the files to other partition then reformat.

This sounds JUST like the Anthrax virus.
It was created to fudge up your USB drive and freeze your OS at that point. Unless you are very VERY good with Logs analysis, I reccomend reformatting, even though you said it's not an option.
SIGNATURE TOO BIG

I doubt it's a virus.
I'm starting to think it's my graphics card and usb drivers. Whenever I plug in any USB powered devices it works for afew minutes then locks up. This happens aswell when I run something that uses abit of graphics (game, video, etc). So it could either be their drivers are corrupt or the last thing I can think of would be the power supply. Are their any programs you can use to check drivers? |
