He wants to know which AV is the best, in our opinion.

Common sense is the best defence. If you have the worlds best AV, a social engineer can still make you turn off your AV and run his file if you don't have good common sense.

For anti-viruses, then Nod32. I hate it because it is one of the hardest to bypass.
